The picture above is a house call I made to sew a young lady's head after she fell. She avoided a long wait in a crowded ER. I didn't need labs or unnecessary imaging, which she most likely would have been overcharged for in the average ER.

It took 30 minutes and cost her a fraction of what an ER bill would have cost.

Cost Effective and very Flexible scheduling

We offer several different types of visit settings and treatment options-
- in your own house, at a medical clinic, tele/video, and phone visits are available
- You have final say on whether we do labs, imaging, prescribe medications, etc

You'll always know exactly what you will pay beforehand

I will have most common prescriptions with me so I can save you the trip to the pharmacy.

Q: Why change to this medical model and decrease the number of patients you see?

A: I was getting burnt out and felt like I wasn't able to provide the level of care and give each patient the attention they deserved.

Q: Isn't it a pay cut to see fewer patients and more stressful to run a small business?

A: Yes, but money isn't everything and I'd much rather have the freedom and liberty of being my own boss versus the security of being employed by someone else.

Bottom line, I would rather have a higher quality of life, more meaningful experiences with patients, not be rushed, and/or have to deal with bureaucratic red tape.

Why choose CCM - we can do almost anything, anywhere

We can treat most common conditions including:

Preventative medicine (well child checks, sports/school physicals, and health insurance physicals)
Chronic disease management/assessment, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes
Infections (we have IV antibiotics to give if needed)
Substance use disorders - we can prescribe Suboxone (buprenorphine)
Depression, Anxiety, ADD, ADHD
Joint pain/injections
Trigger point injections
Trauma - injuries such as minor cuts that need sutures/staples
Dehydration with IV fluids
Lower back pain
Asthma, COPD, lung disorders
We can also go over your medical records with you and evaluate the treatment plan and can advise you on our recommendations/treatment plan

Other stuff / Controlled Substances / Contingencies

If we are unable to provide the care necessary, then we will find you the best specialist that can.

We can and will prescribe controlled substances, however prescribing of controlled substances is:

solely at the clinician’s discretion
limited to no more than a 7 day supply
not intended for chronic pain

**Does not apply for Suboxone (buprenorphine) or stimulants for ADD/ADHD

Fail to give you options when it comes to a treatment plan.

On the first visit, I tell every single patient "my role is to be your advisor and advocate. If we were both on an airplane, I am the navigator, but you are the pilot. That means you tell me where you want to go, and I will give you different routes to get there, but it isn't my job to fly the plane. - that's your job"

There are plenty of patients that have refused (or wanted) an intervention that I wouldn't have chosen for myself, but we have a very libertarian attitude here and don't so much care WHAT your decision is, but rather care that it IS YOUR decision.

Order too many labs or imaging studies

A physician can do more harm by ordering an unnecessary lab/radiology versus ordering the wrong medication.

I remember when I was a surgical intern, there was a patient that died from complications during a lung biopsy. That biopsy was only performed because a physician ordered an unnecessary chest X-ray showing a small nodule (that the patient likely had since birth and wouldn't have caused him any problems). But since we knew about it and couldn't fully characterize it with less invasive modalities, we were forced to do the open lung biopsy.

I refuse to profit off of something that costs you more time, money, pain, or effort than is absolutely imperative for your health.

I am choosing this model of medical practice, because I don't want to feel rushed or be interrupted when having a discussion regarding a patient's healthcare.

I could make more money, be on call less, and have fewer worries about small business management in the more traditional/common medical model of healthcare. But job satisfaction, quality of life, and happy/healthy patients are paramount to me, far more important than any of the previously mentioned details like money, free time, etc.

Refer you to someone that I wouldn't personally choose as my physician or surgeon.

After practicing in the community for about a decade, I know who and who not to refer patients to.

That being said, even if a patient chooses what would be my last choice of a physician/surgeon to be referred to, I will always defer to my patient's judgment.
